About Broderick Spencer

The principal of Roosevelt High School in New York, Broderick Spencer has more than two decades of leadership experience in the education field. Among other accomplishments since he joined the institution in 2016, Broderick Spencer hosted higher-education fairs with more than 100 universities and colleges, established a process for on-site college admissions, and significantly increased the school’s state exam scores in Algebra 2, Global Studies, and English. Additionally, he is as the assistant principal of Gorton High School in the Yonkers Public Schools district, where he oversees more than 1,500 students and focuses on the social studies, health, special education, mathematics, physical education, and athletic departments.

Broderick Spencer’s professional background also comprises leading other schools in the state. From 2009 to 2012, he served as the principal of Woodlands Middle School. There, his responsibilities included conducting teacher evaluations, supporting the Parent Teacher Student Association, and overseeing the curriculum and school safety. Earlier in his career, Spencer worked in the same position at Longfellow Middle School and Roosevelt Union Free School District’s Roosevelt Middle School.
